Day 1

We visit Skipton on our way to the hotel. Perhaps explore Skipton's Award-Winning High Street which is home to a blend of independent and national shops.

Day 2

After collecting our packed lunch, we will enjoy visits to Keswick, Ambleside and Kendal. The pretty market town of Keswick offers a wide range of attractions for visitors, from farm shops and restaurants to museums (like the pencil museum), and boating trips around Lake Derwentwater. Ambleside is home to The Bridge House, which is the most photographed building in the whole of the Lake District, and Kendal boasts shopping arcades, two castles and fine restaurants. (approx. 2 hours free time will be allowed at each destination)

Day 3

This morning we visit the beautiful village of Cartmel, famous for its 12th Century Priory and home of the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Afterwards, we will return to the hotel to enjoy a light soup and sandwich lunch and an afternoon at leisure.

Day 4

Enjoy time at leisure to explore Grange-over-Sands, home to ornamental gardens, attractive shopping arcades and a seafront promenade. Later, there will be a soup and sandwich lunch served at the hotel before we head to Lancaster for the afternoon.

After breakfast we collect our packed lunches and head for our journey home.

The charming Cumbria Grand is set in 25-acres of gardens and woodlands and is within easy walking distance to the beach. Many rooms have panoramic sea views over Morecambe Bay and beyond to the Yorkshire Dales.
