INVERNESS
We'll head towards the legendary Loch Ness for a cruise on its mysterious waters. Arriving in Clansman Harbour on the Caledonian Canal, you will board our Jacobite Cruise and venture over the deepest point of this storied Loch.
From here, we continue to Inverness, where we'll have free time to explore this compact, cosmopolitan city.
SCOT RAIL
This morning we make our way to the Nevis Range Mountain Experience, where we will take the Mountain Gondola ride up Aonach Mor Mountain
The Nevis Range Mountain Gondola is the only one of its kind in Britain and reaches the heights of 650m. It was built on the north face of Aonach Mòr, the 8th highest mountain in Britain, originally as a way to transport skiers to the slopes. The Mountain Gondola has become an amazing visitor attraction, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic ride and absorb the stunning views and clear mountain air.

This afternoon we join the return Scotrail service from Fort William to Mallaig (including some free time in Mallaig). This section of the West Highland Line crosses the 100ft-high Glenfinnan Viaduct used in the Harry Potter film. Luckily, we are still able to enjoy a train journey on this line, even though the Jacobite service is not operating (the Scotrail service is not operated by a Steam engine).
SKYE
We begin our day with a brief photo opportunity at the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, perched on a small tidal island situated at the confluence of three sea lochs. From here we cross 'over the sea to Skye' and journey on through the mountains of the Inner Hebridean island to the colourful 'capital' harbour town of Portree.
After free time, we then head south to Armadale and the afternoon crossing to Mallaig, returning via the famous 'Road to the Isles', past the Glenfinnan Monument and viaduct, where we stop for a photo opportunity from a different perspective on our way back to the hotel.
Boasting stunning views of Loch Linnhe and a premium location just two miles from Fort William, the Caledonian Hotel is a perfect base for discovering the Scottish Highlands. All rooms are fully equipped with an en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, tea and coffee maker and TV.
