Day 1
Today, we depart and head to our ferry crossing to France. After arriving on the continent, we travel to our overnight hotel.
Day 2
This morning, we travel to Strasbourg, where we enjoy free time to explore one of Europe's most beautiful cities. You'll find a unique mix of Franco-German culture and Gothic architecture. Constructed from pink sandstone, Strasbourg's magnificent cathedral towers over the city, providing spectacular views of the city below and the Black Forest. We also recommend a visit to 'Petite France', a picturesque canal district not to be missed. Late in the afternoon, we board our river cruise ship, the MS Leonardo Da Vinci. After settling into your cabins, you'll be greeted by our attentive crew and treated to a welcome cocktail before an evening of fine food and entertainment as we sail through to Mannheim.
Day 3
Our cruise arrives in Mannheim early this morning, where we include an excursion to romantic Heidelberg. Nestled between the Neckar River and the foothills of the Odenwald Forest, this city is considered one of Germany's most beautiful, being home to a historic old town and a fifteenth-century castle that offers astounding views of the surrounding area and a giant wine barrel, known as Heidelberg Tun. After the excursion, there will be free time to explore the old town before reboarding the ship this afternoon, following which we cruise along the Neckar and Rhine Rivers towards Rüdesheim, where the famous Drosselgasse with its numerous cafés, bars, and music awaits you tonight!
Day 4
After breakfast, enjoy free time in Rüdesheim this morning. Alternatively, why not join today's optional excursion, which includes a guided tour of the town, starting with the local vineyards on a tourist train and ending with a wine tasting? You'll also visit Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum, housing a collection of fascinating musical instruments ranging from tiny, delicate music boxes to an enormous orchestrion. Back onboard our ship this afternoon, we travel through the beautiful Rhine Valley, where majestic castles, mysterious ruins, and vineyards dot the countryside, best known for its legendary German royalty and fabled Lorelei Rock. After reaching Koblenz, we join the Moselle River towards Cochem and enjoy another evening of fantastic food and onboard entertainment.
Day 5
Welcome to Cochem today for some free time this morning. It is located within the romantic Moselle Valley, and few cities in Germany can match Cochem's sheer charm and beauty. Alternatively, an optional excursion will take you to Cochem's crown jewel, its spectacular twelfth-century imperial castle, which overlooks the town and the magnificent Moselle Valley below. After you visit the castle, you'll enjoy some free time in the romantic town centre before returning to our cruise ship. We spend this afternoon, we float down the river through to Trier.
B, L, DDay 6
After arriving in Trier in the small hours and following breakfast, we include a guided tour of the town's fine examples of well-preserved Roman and medieval buildings, including the amphitheatre, the imperial baths, the Roman basilica, and the Porta Nigra, one of the best-preserved Roman city gates. Afterwards, you'll enjoy free time to explore independently before rejoining our cruise ship in Saarburg. Our afternoon will be spent cruising along the Sarre and the Moselle towards Remich in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, with another evening of entertainment tonight.

Alternatively, join an optional excursion into the Caves St Martin, where you'll discover the secrets of winemaking while strolling through these underground passages. Later this afternoon, we will include a guided walking tour of Luxembourg City to discover a unique blend of styles and cultures. Highlights include the Place des Armes, Place de la Constitutions, Corniche, the old city, Grand Ducal Palace and Place Guillaume II.
