Free time in Salford Quays

Day 1

We drive to Salford Quays, the Northern home of the BBC and ITV, where we'll find the Imperial War Museum North. This unique purpose-built space is home to an award-winning collection of thousands of exhibits, including a First World War field gun, which fired the opening British round on the Western Front, an immersive 360 cinema and steelwork retrieved from the rubble of the World Trade Centre in New York. Afterwards, why not take a stroll around the Quays, where you'll find eateries, shopping outlets and galleries at the Lowry, before we travel to our hotel?

Day 2

Following breakfast, we travel to RHS Bridgewater. Rising from the former grounds of Worsley New Hall and the newest RHS development having opened in 2021, this one-hundred-acre site is being transformed into one of the country's foremost gardens featuring a wealth of things to see and do. Explore the Old Hall's reclaimed Walled Kitchen Garden before walking the newly built Chinese Streamside Garden, Orchard Gardens and bountiful wildflower meadows. In the mid-afternoon, we'll begin our journey home
