Day 1
After your departure, we travel south through Devon, making a stop en route before continuing into Cornwall to our overnight hotel.
DDay 2
An early start today as we head to Penzance to board the Scillonian ferry. During our crossing, you will enjoy a unique perspective of some of Cornwall's most iconic coastline, sailing past quaint fishing villages, impressive lighthouses and towering cliff tops - look out for famous landmarks such as the world-renowned open-air Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Cove and the Land's End peninsula, as well as marine wildlife-spotting from the deck. We arrive in St Mary's around lunchtime and take a leisurely walk (luggage transfers will be provided) from the quayside to to Bell Roack Hotel in Hugh Town, the island's 'capital', where you'll stay for the next four nights.
B, DDay 3
This morning after breakfast, we have included an escorted walking tour of St Marys, which will provide insight into the highlights and life on the largest island in the archipelago. This afternoon is at leisure for the opportunity to explore Hugh Town, home to a variety of shops art and craft galleries and restaurants.
B, DDay 4
An included excursion today takes us by boat to the privately owned island of Tresco for a visit to the world famous Abbey Gardens, Scillys sub-tropical gem flourishing just 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall, where you'll have free time to explore at your own pace. Tresco Abbey Garden was established in the 19th century around the ruins of a Benedictine Abbey and is home to 20,000 plants from more than 80 countries and every Mediterranean climate zone. Watch out for red squirrels and golden pheasants meandering by, marvel at magnificent sculptures in shady glades, and browse haunting echoes of island shipwrecks in the enchanting Valhalla Figurehead Museum.
NB. Evening dinner is NOT included at the hotel this evening which will enable you to explore your choice of culinary experience Hugh Town has to offer.
Day 5
A full day at leisure to explore and relax in Hugh Town, escaping everyday stresses with a return to a gentler way of life here where old-fashioned values are championed. Situated between Porthcressa & Town beaches, both are within a a few minutes walk of our hotel and well recommended for the opportunity to relax and take in the tranquillity of this lovely island which enjoys a mild climate warmed by the Gulf Stream. Alternatively, you may like to take a wildlife safari boat trip in search of the local residents such as puffins, seals, rare seabirds and dolphins. Or explore a little further afield visit one of the beautiful neighbouring islands - St Marys is known as the 'Gateway to the Isles of Scilly' and you do a little island-hopping aboard one of the local boat trips departing from the quayside. There are five inhabited islands, as well as a host of uninhabited islands all surrounded by clear, turquoise waters (optional boat trips are bookable directly with the operator in resort, not included and are subject to availability).
B, DDay 6
With a leisurely start to the day, we check out and this afternoon you take the short walk back to the quayside to board the ferry back to the mainland (luggage transfers will again be provided). Upon arriving in Penzance, our coach will be waiting to take us to our overnight hotel.

After breakfast, we continue our journey home back by coach.

Bell Rock Hotel has been welcoming guests for over 100 years, we are ideally situated in a level position, midway between Town Beach to the front and Porthcressa Bay at the rear. Both beaches are about 100 yards away! Our location is very convenient, quiet and central. shops, entertainment and the museum are close by. The harbour is less than 10 minutes walk, with boats to Tresco, Bryher, St Agnes and St Martins daily in the season (subject to weather and tides).
