Day 1
We start our journey north with a stop in the historic Cumbrian market town of Penrith. After some free time, we continue to our hotel in Drymen across the Scottish border. Dating back to the late eighteenth century, it is the perfect setting for our Burns Night Celebration break with traditional Scottish fayre, highland entertainment and the sound of bagpipes awaiting you during your stay.
Day 2
Today, we travel to Stirling, a small city with a long history. At the heart of its old town, you'll find royal Stirling Castle, the city's crowning glory which holds a turbulent past. On our return, we also visit the impressive Kelpies, the world's largest equine sculpture, for a quick photo opportunity.
Day 3
This morning, we travel the short distance to Loch Lomond for a cruise on its waters. As we journey past waterfalls, sprawling glens, and rocky peaks, complete with live commentary and refreshments served on board, remember to look out for osprey, sea eagles and mountain goats along the way. We return via a visit to Loch Lomond Shores. While you're here at this five-star visitor attraction, you might like to take the opportunity to visit the Sealife Centre (not included) or simply indulge in a little retail therapy.
Day 4
After a farewell hot toddy, we bid our Scottish hosts goodbye and begin our journey south. We enjoy a stop at Gretna Green, the iconic wedding destination, before crossing the border back home into England.
