Day 1
After departures, we visit the historic spa town of Harrogate. Home to a Victorian town centre and decorative gardens, Harrogate is one of Yorkshire's most elegant destinations; why not visit the famous Betty's Tea Rooms or the Royal Pump Room Museum to explore life in a bygone era? We later arrive at our hotel.
DDay 2
Today’s excursion takes us along the stunning Northumbrian coastline for a visit to the charming village of Seahouses, home to gift shops and cosy cafés to explore. Why not take a stroll around the harbour, perhaps sampling some fresh seafood from the local stalls while you're here? We also travel through the village of Bamburgh to visit the famed Holy Isle of Lindisfarne. Lying just off the Northumberland Coast, choose to explore the unspoilt village, towering castle or the ruins of the Saxon Priory from which the island got its name.
B, DDay 3
This Easter Sunday, we visit Sunderland for a bracing stroll along the seafront before returning for lunch included back at our hotel. This afternoon, we visit nearby Beamish, the Living Museum of the North. This open-air attraction will take you through time, recreating nineteenth and twentieth century working life through immersive exhibits, authentic eateries, traditional shopfronts and costumed characters.
B, DDay 4
We return home with a photo stop at the Angel of the North and a visit to the Yorkshire market town of Thirsk, home of renowned vet Alf Wright, better known by his pen name James Herriot. Here, you’ll find the World of James Herriot where he lived, worked and wrote his incredibly successful series of books.
