Beautiful Bavarian Winter Wonderland

Day 1

After departing, we travel to the continent by ferry with an overnight stop in France.

Day 2

We continue our journey with a visit to Heidelberg. Nestled between the Neckar River and the foothills of the Odenwald Forest, this city is considered one of Germany's most beautiful; Heidelberg is home to a historic old town and a fifteenth-century castle that offers astounding views of the surrounding area. We later continue to our hotel in the centre of the charming Bavarian village of Hohenau.

Day 3

After breakfast, join us on a scenic drive through the winter wonderland of the Bavarian Forest to Bodenmais. Here, we'll explore the famed Joska World of Crystal, the home of Bavarian glassmakers, with live demonstrations of the art of glassblowing. In the afternoon, we return to our hotel with a chance to explore Hohenau before a horse-drawn sleigh ride takes you through this Bavarian Winter Wonderland! We also enjoy a stop at a traditional chalet with live music.

Day 4

After a leisurely morning start, we pay an afternoon visit to a local Husky Farm, where an expert tour guide will show you how these sledging dogs are trained, housed and fed.

Day 5

Today, we visit Passau, the 'city of three rivers,' where the Inn, Ilz, and Danube meet among rolling hills. This city of natural beauty has also been a popular pilgrimage site and is home to the spectacular St. Stephen's Cathedral, where you can find the world's largest church organ. With historic sights dating back to the era of the Roman Empire, there's no shortage of exciting highlights here.

Day 6

We bid a fond farewell to Bavaria and start our journey home with an overnight stop along the way.

Day 7

After this morning's ferry crossing to Dover, we continue our journey home.
