Day 1
We travel south to Cornwall, where we'll stay at the Barrowfield Hotel in Newquay for the next four nights.
DDay 2
Set in nine hundred acres of parkland running down to the Fowey River, Lanhydrock dates to the 17th century and is a magnificent Victorian country house with beautiful gardens and a wooded estate. With over fifty rooms to explore and formal gardens ablaze with colour, this is a must-visit in the summer. After some free time, we return to Newquay for the afternoon. Located on Cornwall's Atlantic Coast, Newquay is one of the nation's favourite seaside towns - and it's not hard to see why! Oozing a laidback atmosphere and surrounded by 7 miles of glorious, golden sandy beaches, it's a place where everyone can relax with an ice cream in hand. Perhaps jump on the famous Land Train for a unique and fun journey through the centre of town, which is trendy and traditional.
B, DDay 3
Enjoy a leisurely start with more free time to explore Newquay this morning. This afternoon, we visit Trebah Gardens, a uniquely beautiful, subtropical paradise that descends to its beach on the beautiful Helford River. Rated amongst the eighty finest gardens in the World, explore under canopies bursting with exotic blooms and discover the magic of this beautiful Cornish Garden.
B, DDay 4
Today, we visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan; this 'secret garden' was accidentally rediscovered in 1992. Here, you can explore 200 acres of garden history, mystery and romance, which, having been lost since the outbreak of World War I, have become Europe's largest garden restoration project and are today one of the finest in England. We also visit the nearby quaint fishing village of Mevagissey, where a traditional Cornish pasty from a local vendor comes highly recommended!
B, DDay 5
We return to the East Midlands today.
