B, DGood Friday
A full day of sightseeing takes us to the unique cities of Lucca and Pisa. Lucca is one of Tuscany's most beloved cities, enclosed by historic walls. On Good Friday, a traditional procession takes place as a heavy wooden crucifix is carried through the town's streets. We also travel to Pisa, a lively, bustling city famous for its Leaning Tower, one of the most photographed sights in the world!
B, DDay 4
Enjoy a full-day excursion to Volterra, a dramatic hilltop town blessed with sweeping views across the Tuscan countryside. Its compact historic centre unfolds as a charming maze of narrow cobbled streets leading to the Piazza dei Priori - one of Tuscany's best-preserved medieval squares. Volterra flourished in the Middle Ages thanks to its alabaster production; examples of this delicate craftsmanship can be admired in churches and cathedrals throughout the region.
B, DEaster Sunday
There's plenty to explore on our excursion to Florence today, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Highlights include the awe-inspiring Florence Cathedral, the Baptistery, the churches of Santa Maria Novella and the library of San Lorenzo, which holds a magnificent Michelangelo exhibition. On Easter Sunday, the famous five-hundred-year-old traditions of 'Esplosione del Carro', a traditional fireworks show, occurs outside of Florence's Duomo; a successful display will supposedly guarantee a good harvest, stable civic life, and good business for everyone.
B, DEaster Monday
Explore Montecatini Terme, a famous spa town known for its 'healing' thermal waters, in your own time today. Whether you're looking for a relaxing thermal spa experience, exploring traditional Italian restaurants, or luxury brand shopping, this Tuscan town ticks all the boxes! Alternatively, why not join us for an optional excursion to sparkling coastal resort of Viareggio? Known as the 'Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea', this charming destination offers the perfect blend of relaxation, culture, and history. Stroll along endless stretches of golden sand or explore the lively seafront, lined with inviting shops, cafés, and seafood restaurants. A favourite retreat since Napoleonic times, it continues to captivate visitors with its timeless appeal.
B, DDay 7
Step back in time with a visit to medieval Siena. Enjoy free time to explore its stunning architecture, art and traditions unchanged since the 12th century, including the Gothic cathedral and the world's oldest bank, Monte dei Paschi. We continue to San Gimignano, a UNESCO-listed hilltop town known for its honey-coloured buildings, rolling vineyards, and iconic medieval towers-the 'Manhattan of the Middle Ages'.
