Day 1
We head to Heysham today to board our ferry to the Isle of Man. We'll arrive in Douglas, staying at the seafront Hydro Hotel.
DDay 2
After breakfast, enjoy a journey on the Isle of Man Steam Railway from Douglas to Port Erin. Britain's longest narrow-gauge steam line still uses its original rolling stock and offers charming countryside and coastal views on our hour-long journey. Upon arrival in Port Erin, our next stop is the nearby Railway Museum, where you can view engines and royal carriages whilst learning the history of this fascinating railway network. Later, we visit the National Folk Museum in Cregneash - a living, working illustration of nineteenth and twentieth-century Manx life, where visitors can see traditional farming methods and skills in action.
B, DDay 3
Situated on the east coast of the Isle of Man, enjoy a free day in the island's capital, Douglas. Home to a beautiful seafront lined with picturesque restaurants and locally owned stores, why not ride aboard one of the famous horse-drawn trams along the promenade or visit the Manx Museum, bursting with local artefacts and treasures unique to the island's thousand-year history?
B, DDay 4
Departing from Douglas, we travel on the Manx Electric Railway, a heritage railway still operating with its original Victorian and Edwardian rolling stock. Our journey takes us to Laxey, a picturesque village best known for the largest waterwheel in the world, which is found nearby. You'll also find waterfalls and woollen mills to explore too!
B, DDay 5
We head home today via a return ferry crossing.
