Lake Garda & Verona with optional Venice

Day 1

After departing the UK, enjoy your journey through France before making an overnight stop enroute.

Day 2

We continue through the Mont Blanc tunnel and across the border into Italy, arriving in Riva del Garda this afternoon. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink before our evening meal.

Day 3

Our first day will see us enjoy a leisurely morning before travelling across Lake Garda to Limone via boat. Once renowned for growing lemons, hence the name, you'll find the heart of the old town and the harbour. From here, explore narrow lanes lined with shops, waterfront terraces and plenty of places to eat.

Day 4

Discover the resort of beautiful Riva del Garda in your free time today. A bustling town located at the northern point of Lake Garda and flanked by mountains, Riva del Garda is a charming place to relax with a lakeside harbour, park, and beach. A host of cafes, bars, and restaurants are perfect for indulging in local cuisine, while the rest of the town is just a short walk away from your hotel.
You may like to take the opportunity today to take another lake cruise to Malcesine today (not included), an attractive town with a harbour and a thirteenth-century castle. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda in the shadow of Monte Baldo, explore picturesque medieval lanes that wind from the lake and pretty squares lined with shops, cafés and restaurants.

Day 5

After breakfast, we travel to the medieval city of Verona, home to Romeo and Juliet. Spend your day exploring the remarkable sights, including the legendary balcony, the magnificent Piazza Bra and its incredible Roman amphitheatre or enjoy a little shopping in the Via Mazzini. This World Heritage site is the place to explore thousands of years of Italian history.

Day 6

Another day at your leisure in Riva Del Garda, or alternatively, why not join us for an optional excursion to ancient Venice? Known as the City of Water, our day includes a walking tour with a local guide and boat transfers into the city. Explore the incredible architecture and history by visiting the splendid Piazza San Marco, the world-renowned Grand Canal thoroughfare, the Bridge of Sighs and the Palace of the Doges.

Day 7

Today, we explore the western shores of Lake Garda visiting Bardolino, well known for its wine made from the grapes grown on the surrounding hillsides. We also visit Sirmione, a beautifully preserved town with an imposing turreted castle. This maze of narrow, cobbled streets built on a peninsula makes it a popular place for celebrities to live. A traditional farewell dinner will be served at the hotel this evening.

Day 8

We return through France and to our overnight hotel.

Day 9

We retrace our footsteps home.
