Day 1
We travel north to visit Moffat, a vibrant town in the Scottish Borders. We later continue to our hotel.
Day 2
This morning, we drive along the 'Bonnie Banks' of Loch Lomond to the picturesque village of Luss. Sitting on the western shores of Loch Lomond, it is most famous for appearing as a backdrop in the Scottish soap opera 'Take the High Road'. After a walk, why not visit the local shops, where you can find a selection of Scottish-inspired gifts and handcrafted products made by local craftspeople? We later continue to Loch Lomond Shores, an upmarket shopping and visitor destination.
B, DDay 3
Enjoy free time to explore Aberfoyle today. This charming village is set on the banks of the River Forth in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Perhaps wander along its attractive main street, jam-packed with individual shops, cafés and restaurants or visit the Trossachs Discovery Centre, where you can learn more about the area's natural beauty and history.
B, DDay 4
Enjoy another day of free time to explore Aberfoyle. Alternatively, join us on our optional excursion to Callander and Stirling. We travel through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, passing the tranquil lochs of Achray and Venachar until we reach Callander. Set dramatically beneath high, wooded crags, Callander gained fame as the location for the original Dr Findlay's Casebook TV series. This afternoon, we visit Stirling. This beautiful, historic city is excellent for learning about Scotland's impressive past. Explore Stirling's spectacular cliff-top castle, with its Royal Palace, Chapel Royal and Regimental Museum.
B, DDay 5
We return home via a visit to the Kelpies, a colossal monument to horse-powered heritage across Central Scotland.
