Free time in Paignton

Day 1

We set off for the English Riviera this morning, arriving at the Esplanade Hotel in Paignton in the late afternoon.

Day 2

Enjoy a full day in neighbouring Torquay. One of the most elegant towns along the English Riviera, this award-winning resort is home to a bustling harbourside lined with cafés and bars, numerous attractions, and bundles of beautiful shops. Don't forget to try the selection of freshly caught seafood!

Day 3

One of the English Riviera's brightest jewels, Paignton's seaside resort benefits from a mild climate in which subtropical palm trees thrive, providing a continental holiday feel! Why not visit the award-winning beachfront, promenade, and traditional pier on your free day? If you're looking for something different, visiting Paignton Zoo or an adventure on the Dartmouth Steam Railway is a must-do!

Day 4

Today's full-day excursion takes us to Exmouth, one of Devon's most picturesque seaside destinations and a lively town with a vibrant shopping centre. We also visit Exeter, a small city with a lot to offer. Predating the arrival of the Roman Empire, you'll find a magnificent 13th-century cathedral, Roman city walls, and an exciting quayside with lots to see.

Day 5

This morning, we visit Totnes, which sits on the banks of the River Dart and best known for its historic market. This unique and charming town combines breathtakingly beautiful countryside with a fascinating history and a relaxed atmosphere. After a half-day visit, we return to Paignton this afternoon.

Day 6

On today's excursion to Sidmouth, you can enjoy exploring a beautiful coastal resort with a regency feel. Situated in a flat, sandy bay surrounded by cliffs, Sidmouth has a unique variety of shopping options, an attractive promenade, and all the traditional seaside diversions of a typical English resort.

Day 7

After breakfast, we return home to the East Midlands today.
