Day 1
After departures, we travel south with a lunchtime stop in Worcester, a wonderful cathedral city surrounded by historic sights. We continue to our hotel this afternoon.
DDay 2
The ancient market town of Glastonbury is home to a famous Tor, a beautiful Abbey and a wide range of shops and cafés to explore. We also visit Wells, England's smallest city, which boasts a magnificent cathedral and Vicar's Close, the oldest medieval street in Europe. Finally, we return to our hotel via a meandering drive through the spectacular Cheddar Gorge, Britain's deepest gorge and, unsurprisingly, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
B, DDay 3
Enjoy a free day in Weston-super Mare today! Steeped in Victorian history and dominated by a long stretch of glorious sandy beach, Weston-super-Mare offers plenty of fish and chip shops, amusements, and beautiful Edwardian-style tearooms to enjoy, alongside a vast array of attractions and shopping opportunities to explore.
B, DDay 4
We have arranged a journey on the West Somerset Railway - the longest heritage railway in England! Our nostalgic twenty-mile trip starts in Bishops Lydeard and will take us through the Quantock Hills to the traditional seaside town of Minehead, home to a fishing quarter and a historic harbour. After a chance to explore, we also visit Dunster, the largest and most intact medieval village in the country and found in the foothills of Exmoor National Park.
B, DDay 5
After a leisurely start this morning, we begin our homeward journey.
