Day 1
Our day begins with a scenic drive to Bakewell in the Peak District National Park. Idyllically situated on the banks of the River Wye, Bakewell is perhaps best known for its delicious pudding! After some free time, our journey continues to the award-winning Oswaldtwistle Mills Shopping Village & Garden Centre. Set in a former weaving mill, this unique shopping village has over 100 retailers all under one roof - including the Lifestyle & Garden Centre, Mill Grounds, Aquatics Specialist, Craft Centre, Textile and Heritage Museum and even a Wildfowl Reserve. From here, we travel to our hotel in time for tonight's dinner.
DDay 2
Accompanied by our experienced guide, David Johns, today we explore the legend of the Pendle Witches! Our day starts with a visit to the fascinating Pendle Heritage Centre, where we will follow the journey of the ten people executed after being found guilty of witchcraft. We also visit Moorhouse's Brewery, which sits in Pendle Hill's shadow. You'll find popular beers, including Witches of Pendle Brew, White Witch Brew and Black Cat Brew. Here, you can discover the secrets and recipes of their exceptional beers with a look behind the scenes.
B, DDay 3
After breakfast, we head to Bury for free time and the opportunity to visit the Bury Transport Museum, where the industrial heritage of the North West is brought to life through stunningly restored vehicles and original artefacts. Later, take a journey on the East Lancashire Steam Railway, which includes cream tea. The line runs through scenic Lancastrian landscapes with beautiful rural panoramas alongside postcard-pretty villages to bustling Victorian towns and cotton mill-dotted horizons. Afterwards, we returned home with comfort stops.
